Blue Sky's ethical standards ensure that the organisation does not get involved in conflict itself - but the Foundation is active in many aspects of conflict prevention and post-conflict reconstruction.

| Our team's experience of peace support and monitoring operations in areas such as Bosnia and Kosovo, Sierra Leone and Afghanistan was |
recognised in 2002 with our appointment by the Henri Dunant Centre - acting on behalf of the UN - to assist with the monitoring of their Cessation of Hostilities initiative in Aceh, Indonesia .
The first award of such a responsibility to a private-sector organisation, the project was completed successfully over a 9-month period, and our detailed situation analysis was subsequently shown to be extremely accurate.
As well as direct peace monitoring and analysis work, we are able to support initiatives such as these by providing effective on-site management, communication and logistical facilities for peace-monitoring teams, and by ensuring a sensitive but effective security environment.
Post-conflict services
Our experience in disarmament, demobilisation and reintegration (DDR) programmes is of a very high level, gained in the Balkans, Africa, the Middle East and Afghanistan .
From amnesty and filtering, through to government/NGO liaison and skills redeployment, we are adept at reintegrating combatants of all kinds, as well as civilians, to speed effective stabilisation and reconstruction.
